Maria and Victor got married in the backyard of their house in Pembroke Pines, Florida. It was the perfect weather for a sunny backyard wedding giving me the chance to capture great shots of them using their lake front home as my backdrop. One of my favorite photos was taken under an iron ornamental chuppah where they said their vows.
For their rings shot, I wanted to not only use something in their backyard, but I also wanted to give meaning to this photograph and reflect how as a man and woman unite in marriage, they become One, but this One must have a strong foundation in order for this marriage to be successful. I finally found a rock by their backyard’s pool to reflect just that. The word of God compares Jesus to a rock in which to put our trust and make our foundation. When he becomes the foundation in our marriage, storms might come and winds might blow, but our home, our bond as One, will remain strong and never fall.

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
